| BEGINNER'S CROCHET Sundays: 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm $80.00 September 12 & 19 October 3 & 17 Learn the basics of crochet: Chain stitch, single and double crochet, slip stitch, finishing pattern, understanding written and chart pattern instructions. Recommended Text: Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller INTERMEDIATE CROCHET Sundays: 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm $95.00 (+ $5.00 original hat pattern) September 19 & 26 October 24 & 31 Learn to “give shape” to your crochet by increasing and decreasing; Learn different crochet stitches such as bobbles, puffs, popcorns and more. Practice the different pattern: chevron, lace etc. Learn how to read crochet symbol diagrams. Make the hat as class project. Recommended Text: Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller ADVANCED CROCHET TECHNIQUE PART I Tuesdays: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $95.00 September 7 & 14 October 5 & 12 Tunisian (Afghan) Crochet: Learn to make knit, purl and lace Tunisian stitches. Hairpin Lace: Learn to make hairpin strips and different methods to join them together for the finished article. ADVANCED CROCHET TECHNIQUE PART II Fridays: 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm $95.00 September 17 & 24 October 22 & 29 Broomstick Lace: Learn the Broomstick lace technique, practice to make clusters. Filet Crochet: Learn to make a mesh pattern, to use the filet charts, increasing and decreasing stitches. Woven overlay Crochet: Learn to make color fabric by woven yarn strands or crochet chain through a mesh background. CROCHET LACE SHAWL Tuesdays 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $75.00 (By appointment only) September 7 & 14 October 5 & 12 In this class you’ll learn how to make a Pineapple shawl from the point up. Practice increasing stitches. By the end of the class each student will walk out with a mini-shawl and with the knowledge of how to develop it to the large size and how to block a shawl. The knowledge of basic crochet stitches is helpful. CROCHET BAG Fridays: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $75.00 (+ $5.00 original pattern) (By appointment only) September 17 & 24 October 22 & 29 Learn a variety of techniques and skills while making a stylish one-of-a-kind bag. Topics will include different crochet stitches, shaping options, working charts and finishing bag techniques, such as zipper installation, interfacing and lining. CROCHET BEADED JEWELRY Tuesday 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $35.00 +($10 kit optional) (By appointment only) September 21 & 28 October 19 & 26 If you know the crochet basics and are ready to learn the techniques for adding beads to your project, this class is for you. You’ll make beautiful jewelry for yourself or a gift to your loved ones. The knowledge of basic single crochet is helpful. Required materials: Scissors, tape measure, pen and choice of one crochet hook (either size 6 or 8) and choice of one ball of size 10 crochet thread). Kit includes original instructions, size 6 beads (white & color), big eye bead needle, 2 clasps (colors silver and gold), felt. CROCHET WITH COLORS Fridays: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $75.00 October 8 & 15 This class is an introduction to Intarsia, Fair Isle Stitch, Learn the basics of each method as you knit samples. Learn to chart a motif, calculate yarn amounts and work with bobbins. You will also focus on crochet and finishing techniques used in each of the design methods. CROCHET SWEATER Thursdays: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $75.00 (+ $5.00 for original pattern) (By appointment only) September 9 & 16 Learn the innovative technique on how to make a top-down sweater without making a swatch. When you crochet your sweater from the neckline, you can try it on as you go. The back and front as well as sleeves are crocheted together to the underarm and later separated in different pieces. Of your choice, you will make a miniature sweater or a sweater of your size. Along the way you will learn the fine technique of reading abbreviations/symbols and understanding garment shaping. By the end you’ll know how to finish a sweater. Required materials: Worsted weight yarn, H or I crochet hook, 4 safety pins or stitch markers, scissors, tape measure, pen. CROCHET PONCHO Sundays: 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm (2 sessions) $75.00 (+$ 5.00 original pattern) (2 Sessions by appointment only) Learn the basic construction of a poncho. Discover how to incorporate a pattern into the poncho design. Practice increasing stitches. Create decorative finishes to embellish your poncho. The knowledge of basic single crochet is helpful. Required materials: Worsted weight yarn, H or I crochet hook (or other yarn with appropriate-sized crochet hook), 4 safety pins or stitch markers, scissors, tape measure, pen. CROCHET FLOWERS Tuesdays: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $35.00 (+$ 5.00 for original pattern) (By appointment only) Crochet your own original flowers using different yarns. You will have a selection of several crochet flowers by the end of class, as well as the knowledge to produce many others. Required materials: Worsted or sport weight yarns in different colors, size F and G crochet hooks, safety pins, yarn needle, pen. CROCHET PATTERN READING Sundays 2:00pm - 3:00pm $25.00 (By appointment only) Learn to read and understand written crochet patterns. Learn the most commonly used abbreviations and the difference between US and UK terminology. Please bring light-colored yarn and appropriate sized crochet hook. WEDNESDAY CIRCLE: Wednesdays: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm $20.00 Join Tatyana’s crochet circle on Wednesdays. The circle is designed to have you work at your own pace on a project of your choice. Bring any crochet projecting and/or questions. You will receive assistance and learn different techniques. Keep in mind this is not a teaching class but a guidance class.
