Learn to “give shape” to your crochet by increasing and decreasing; Learn different crochet stitches such as bobbles, puffs, popcorns and
more. Practice the different pattern: chevron, lace etc. Learn how to read crochet symbol diagrams. Make the hat as class project.

In this class you’ll learn how to make a Pineapple shawl from the point up. Practice increasing stitches. By the end of the class each student
will walk out with a mini-shawl and with the knowledge of how to develop it to the large size and how to block a shawl.
The knowledge of basic crochet stitches is helpful.

If you know the crochet basics and are ready to learn the techniques for adding beads to your project, this class is for you. You’ll make
beautiful jewelry for yourself or a gift to your loved ones.  The knowledge of basic single crochet is helpful.
Required materials:
Scissors, tape measure, pen and choice of one crochet hook (either size 6 or 8) and choice of one ball of size 10 crochet thread).
Kit includes original instructions, size 6 beads (white & color), big eye bead needle, 2 clasps (colors silver and gold), felt.

This class is an introduction to Intarsia, Fair Isle Stitch, Learn the basics of each method as you knit samples.  Learn to chart a motif,
calculate yarn amounts and work with bobbins.  You will also focus on crochet and finishing techniques used in each of the design methods.

Learn the innovative technique on how to make a top-down sweater without making a swatch.  When you crochet your sweater from the
neckline, you can try it on as you go. The back and front as well as sleeves are crocheted together to the underarm and later separated in
different pieces. Of your choice, you will make a miniature sweater or a sweater of your size.  Along the way you will learn the fine
technique of reading abbreviations/symbols and understanding garment shaping.  By the end you’ll know how to finish a sweater.
Required materials:
Worsted weight yarn, H or I crochet hook, 4 safety pins or stitch markers, scissors, tape measure, pen.

Discover the European Crochet Bruges Lace Technique that is fun to make and not difficult though it may look scary. In class, you will
learn this crochet technique, the abbreviations and symbols used in crochet instructions and charts. You will also practice making 5 different
samples (shapes). At the end of class you will know how to make the finishing project.

Learn the basic construction of a poncho. Discover how to incorporate a pattern into the poncho design. Practice increasing stitches. Create
decorative finishes to embellish your poncho.  The knowledge of basic single crochet is helpful.
Required materials:  
Worsted weight yarn, H or I crochet hook (or other yarn with appropriate-sized crochet hook), 4 safety pins or stitch markers, scissors, tape measure,
pen.


CROCHET FLOWERS                Tuesdays: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm                              $35.00  (+$ 5.00 for original pattern)

Crochet your own original flowers using different yarns.  You will have a selection of several crochet flowers by the end of class, as well as
the knowledge to produce many others.
Required materials:  
Worsted or sport weight yarns in different colors, size F and G crochet hooks, safety pins, yarn needle, pen.


CROCHET PATTERN READING        Sundays 2:00pm - 3:00pm                        $25.00 per person per session

Learn to read and understand written crochet patterns. Learn the most commonly used abbreviations and the difference between US and UK
terminology. Please bring light-colored yarn and appropriate sized crochet hook.


CROCHET CIRCLE:                              Wednesdays: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm                 $20.00 per person per session
Join Tatyana’s crochet circle on Wednesdays.  The circle is designed to have you work at your own pace on a project of your choice.  Bring
any crochet projecting and/or questions.  You will receive assistance and learn different techniques.  


SUNDAY CIRCLE:                             Sundays 2:30 pm - 4:00 p.m.                          $20.00 per person per session
Join Tatyana’s Sunday circle starting November 6, 2011.  The circle is designed to have you work at your own pace on a project of your
choice.  Bring any knitting/crocheting project and/or questions.  You will receive assistance and learn different techniques.
Please call Knit-A-Way at 718-797-3305 to make an appointment and
register in advance for classes.
Three students minimum per class.
Prepayment is required to confirm registration.
There are no make-up sessions for missed classes.


Private lessons are also available at $50.00 per hour and can be schedule to your convenience.
